Port Blair:
From budget hotels, and home-stays to lavish & comfy beachfront resorts, you will find every type of stay option in Port-Blair, ranging from as low as 1500 INR to 35000 INR per night depending on Property type, locations, and what services they offer.
We would like to suggest, don’t go for cheaper hotels in Andaman (especially in Port Blair) and spend extra time reading reviews on Google before booking. It’s your choice, whether you want to stay in the core of the city near city attractions, or sightseeing, or you want to enjoy leisure time with a magnificent bay view full of beachy vibes, they have it all!
Almost every hotel will provide you with free parking and a free hot breakfast in the morning, especially South Indian cuisine- healthy, fulfilling & everybody’s favorite. Some of them also provide free Wi-Fi service, but I do not guarantee you the speed!
Here is one tip for you, book a medium-budget hotel for those days when you will be busy sightseeing and book a luxurious hotel room for leisure days, where you can pamper yourself with Spa, comfort in the swimming pool, enjoy cocktails, beach-sight dining serving fresh seafood along with other amenities.
We planned our trip of 2 Nights in Port Blair, 3 Nights in Havelock & again 2 Nights will be in Port Blair, where we sandwich a refreshing excursion trip to one of the most beautiful mystical Havelock Island.

Our Staycation Experience at J Hotel, Port Blair:
We had a delightful stay at J Hotel in Port Blair, it’s a well-appointed hotel with modern and elegant décor catches your attention immediately as you enter the lobby.
The major plus point about this hotel is its strategic location, which is right in the heart of the city, within walkable distance to the famous Aberdeen bazaar & clock tower, where you will find many eateries, shopping options, ATMs, Cabs/Autos, etc. All sightseeing like National Memorial Cellular Jail, Corbyn’s Cove Beach & Water Sports Complex are at short vicinity and International Airport is just a 10 min. drive away.

J Hotel has a multi-cuisine rooftop restaurant dining with a city view, we couldn’t resist trying some of the seafood dishes. We also took advantage of the hotel’s convenient location to explore the market, city, and nearby touristy places on our own.
The hospitality of the staff from arranging transportation to offering guidance for local sightseeing, went above our expectations! Overall, a big thumbs up to ‘J Hotel’.

Our Staycation Experience at Silver Spring Resort, Havelock Island:
You will find plenty of beautiful options near Vijay Nagar Beach No. 5, ask yourself what you wish for! I had this wish to live in a cozy little house in the middle of the rainforest. Do you wish the same?
Well, my wish turned reality in ‘Silver Spring Resort‘, where they offered 10 gorgeous, comfy, eco-friendly Nicobari-style villas, and cottages surrounded by lush green trees, just fitting my budget, what more I could ask for? It’s a great escape from the beaches, spread over a hilltop, in the middle of the jungle!
It is located at Shyam Nagar No.4, from where Radha Nagar Beach (Asia’s best & world’s most beautiful beach) is just 7 Km away, so if you don’t mind staying away from the beach crowd, this is indeed a good deal!
We were quite impressed after checking into our villa, which was located on top of the hill overlooking so many trees, designed in such a way to maintain privacy and cost worth. Don’t believe me? Just check out our room & the surroundings.
The hotel staff was friendly, welcoming & helpful, they arranged a rental bike on our request. We tried some local seafood & non-veg varieties in their restaurant which were average but their morning South Indian complimentary breakfast was amazing.
Talking about the cons, there was no hot water in the shower, but I would not mind if the weather was pleasingly warm outside.
We spent peaceful mornings there, sitting on the private balcony, breathing in fresh air, hearing the sound of gusts and leaves accompanied by chirping birds with some nice talks!
This resort is value for money, may not be that famous, and is not available for booking on Make My Trip or any other online platforms but you can book directly from this website

Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep):
Most of the tourists plan for a day trip to Neil Island and stay for a night, as it is not as developed as Havelock Island. With almost zero networks, a trip to Neil Island is a digital detox and a truly serene getaway for travelers with white sandy beaches and rich corals.
The connectivity between Port Blair (1.30 Min.) and Havelock Island (45 Min. -1 Hr.) is good by private cruises and government ferries. There are a handful of good restaurants and hotels/resorts (costs between 3000 INR to 20000 INR per night) that will accommodate you.
Check out the list of good hotels in Neil Island:

- Location: Laxmanpur Beach No. 1, Neil Island.
- Price Range: 7000-10000 INR per night
- Reviews: With direct access to the beach, features comfortable rooms with sea/garden/pool view, restaurant, and pool facility.
- Location: Sitapur Beach No. 5, Neil Island.

I don’t have a personal staycation experience because Neil Island was not part of my itinerary, but I would love to explore that part in my next trip for sure.
Important Tips & Notes:
- Book your hotels well in advance, especially on rush days like December & in the peak holiday season.
- Please note that you may face problems like poor to almost no mobile network, poor Wi-Fi connection, TV with no channels working, no hot water in the shower, food & water served at higher rates, no street lights, etc. which are common on these islands, so prepare your mind and don’t complain.
- Book a medium-budget hotel for those days when you will be busy sightseeing and get a luxurious hotel room for leisure days.
- The price ranges mentioned here are approximate and may vary based on room type, season, location demand, and availability. I recommend checking current prices directly with hotels and respective websites.
- In this post, I am recommending low to medium-budget good hotels, that are not only pocket-friendly but offer good services. There is a separate post for the recommendations of 5-star resorts in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
