Not to forget, the majority of tourists came here from the neighboring “Dry State”, Gujrat only to fulfill their thirst. Whether you come here to explore tourist attractions, experience adventure water sports, or just for relaxation, Daman has it all!
While planning a quick trip, you might be wondering where to stay in Daman. Well, I have a curated list of hotels from budget to beach-front luxurious resorts & villas to choose from.
This was our first time in Daman, where we wanted to explore all the attractions so, we were looking for a decent, family-friendly, budgeted hotel nearby tourist spots and then there we found Hotel Marina located in the heart of the Nani Daman city!
Coming up, I’ll be sharing our staycation experience of the Hotel Marina Daman reviews along with photos.
Hotel Marina Daman Reviews
You will find several reviews of the guests commented on the hotel’s cleanliness & maintenance, strategic location, affordability, warm hospitality, courteous staff & humble owner, and obviously its proximity to famous touristy attractions.
Hotel Marina truly lives up to the expectations of the Portuguese Architecture built in 1864, currently run by a Parsi family, keeping its vintage charm intact with their old-styled shining teak wood furniture, staircase, roofs, doors, and windows coupled with bronze fittings. Although it’s very old they maintained the property quite well.
The wooden staircase takes you to the upper deck area and to your rooms, where you will find unique kinds and sizes of wooden chairs and tables.
What interest me the most are showcases packed with antique bottles, Jars, Lamps, Glasses, Plates, Vessels, and 4-5 types of “Laughing Buddha”(Those who don’t know, Laughing Budhha is a statue of a smiling, overweight man representing the happiness, contentment, and prosperity, who takes away all the misery and brings good fortune and luck)!
Room with Amenities & Prices:
As we walked into the room, it looks cozy and warm. They continued the vintage theme inside the rooms as well by providing all wooden furniture & flooring.
You can see photographs, our bed, chairs & tables, wardrobe, TV unit, and old-styled square-shaped TV. Although the interior was simple and minimalistic, half of the entire wall had windows.
The Room size is comfortable for a family of 2+1. The bathroom fittings were okay and in working condition. This hotel is the safest, as you can see there is a Nani Daman Police Station located right in front of the hotel.
Amenities: Air-conditioning, Free Wi-Fi, Toiletries, Room service, Restaurant with dining area, TV, Laundry service.
Prices: Prices range from Rs. 2500 to 4500 Approx. While booking you will get the liberty to choose a room with or without air conditioning/ free breakfast/ free cancellation (Charges vary for given choices).
Parking facility: They have a parking lot near the hotel (a few blocks away) which can accommodate 10-12 cars. They have a staff who can help you with the luggage loading-unloading.
In-house Restaurant & Food: They have a good in-house restaurant on the ground floor serving a veg & non-veg menu. They also serve Parsi food. Sharing photos here to see the ambiance of the restaurant. We tried their veg, Non-veg, and Chinese dishes, and those were tasty. Room service is also available.
Nearby attractions: Location of the hotel is at the Nani Daman city center from where Nani Daman beach, Maharaja Market & St. Jerome fort (i.e. Nani Daman Fort) are within walking distance. Moti Daman fort & lighthouse are at 3 Km, Jampore beach is 5.7 Km & Devka Beach is 3.2 km away from the hotel. You can easily find good restaurants nearby, shopping options and easy to get around.

Overall, our stay was cozy and comfortable, it may not be the high standard but it’s indeed the best budgeted hotels in Daman if you book for odd days. I would like to recommend it for family.
Experience the vintage lifestyle for a day, as we always say, “Old is Gold”.
